Who We Are
Fif Fernandes is a Certified Laughter Yoga Leader and Teacher; trained and certified by Dr. Madan Kataria, founder of Laughter Yoga International. She is also a Certified Laughter Leader, trained under Steve Wilson of the World Laughter Tour. Fif has her BFA(Drama) from the University of Calgary and is a Certified Virtues Project Leader. Fif has facilitated Laughter Sessions and Workshops for 8 - 600 participants at schools, post secondary institutions, teacher’s conventions, special events, seniors’ facilities, non-profit organizations, healthcare facilities, and government. Fif has many “personas”. She is on staff with the Calgary Health Region, as Jumpa the Therapeutic Clown at the Alberta Children’s Hospital and the Peter Lougheed Centre. Her character Shanti Amani Salaama, the Peace Fairy has been invited to many local, national and international gatherings including the International Peace Research Association, where people from over 40 countries received peace blessings and kept coming back for more! Saucy McCuddle can be seen at many local events as the fun loving, saucy Indian Scottish clown, who is the holder of the McCuddle tartan. Fif has received national and international awards as a producer, director, writer, and performer for television and stage. Fif presents anti-bullying shows with Puppets for Peace. Along with peace writer Carolyn Pogue, Fif co-founded StoryJam, a theatre company all about peace, and The Art of Peace Camp, a Summer Camp for kids ages 9-13.
Hamish Boyd is an award-winning playwright and actor. He is affiliated with Dr. Kataria’s School of Laughter Yoga receiving his Certified Laughter Yoga Leader training with Fif Fernandes. Hamish has a BFA from the University of Alberta. Hamish loves to laugh and share laughter with others. He has facilitated over 100 Laughter Sessions and workshops to people from all walks of life – seniors, teens, corporate types, and educators. Hamish just completed a successful run of his one-man show “My Autopsy”, which he wrote and performed. He will be touring across Canada performing it. Despite the title, it is a very humorous account of 50 years of his life. Hamish also works with people with disabilities, and as a standardized patient, training student doctors at the Medical Skills Centre at the University of Calgary. Hamish has performed scores of roles on radio, television, film and stage. He has worked extensively with Fif as a co-writer and creator on documentaries, video and television. Together they have published articles on peace. |
